2023 Tutorial: Step-by-Step Guide on Creating Your Own Crypto Wallet

What's up guys it's Sun here and in this video today I'll be showing you how to set up your very own cryptocurrency wallets now this wallet here is a non-custodial wallet meaning that it's stored with you and it's up to you to manage the security there's no companyLike binance or coinbase or even FTX where your coins will be stored so there's two types of cryptocurrency wallets out there available there's non-custodial which means that you look after it and you own access to the crypto then you've got custodial which is like binance coinbase and FTX whereThey look after your coins for you and you're trusting them not to screw up and lose your cryptocurrency which is what we saw with FTX so to get started head down to Google and type in Exodus and then find The Exodus wallet website and I will put the official link down in theDescription below so that you do use the right link then at the top right press download and I like to set up my Exodus wallet on PC I find it's the easiest and the best way to access my wallet I just have more comfort with it so I'm goingTo download it because I have a Windows PC if you do use a mac Apple computer you can download it there or you can download it on your phone as well but today I'll be taking you through the PC version of Exodus now that it's downloaded the installer I just open itThere and it will install it install Exodus wallet on my PC it honestly only takes about 10-15 seconds and then the application will open there we go Exodus has just installed so it's all installed on my computer I go ahead and open Exodus and the application will open andProvide me with a cryptocurrency wallet already to get started now the first thing that you need to do and this is very very important this is the most important part about setting up this cryptocurrency wallet is to back up your private keys so your private key is aDigital code and it's usually made up of 12 and 24 words and that is like a master key to this wallet Whoever has access to that code or those 12 to 24 words can access your wallet with the cryptocurrency that's stored in it now this is only used as an emergency backupIf for some reason you lose access to your computer or you're overseas and you need to get access to your wallet and your computers at home if your house floods or catches fire or anything like that where you can no longer access your wallet those 12 or 24 words or the longCode the private key is your only way to get access back to your wallet so make sure that you have it written down somewhere make sure you that you have a few copies of it written down and also make sure that no one else has anyAccess to it or can find them as anyone that does and understands that it's a private key will be able to access your crypto wallet now let's get this all set up now that that's out of the way and I'll I'll go over it once again just to show you soGo to the settings at the top right and then press back up now we need to create a password to start now this password is the password that you will need to enter whenever you open the Exodus wallet on your PC or your laptop and this meansThat if someone else gets access to your computer they can't just open up your wallet and then move money around they also need a password to actually open the application fully so I'm just going to put my password in now like that and it's going to ask me to doIt again just to make sure I have it correct just like that all done now worst case scenario if you forget that password that we just set it's not the end of the world as long as you have your phrase which is your private key as long as youHave access to that you can always override that password because remember the private key is the master key to your wallet it is the overall arching axis okay so go view secret phrase and just make sure that there's none around you know not you're not on a call withAnyone nobody can actually see your screen because these 12 words here are my private key it's the master key to get into this wall that I keep telling you about and as you can see it's not actually showing me the 12 words yet so I have to actually hover over each wordWith my mouse for the words to show so I'm going to show you on video of this but once again don't show anyone your words so my first word is spy so I'd grab out a pen and paper and I'll write down spy for my second word my secondWord is sweet so on the same page I'd write down the second word and sweet and you have to make sure that you get these words in order from 1 to 12 absolutely correct because remember this is your private key this is your master key to this wallet whatever cryptocurrency andFunds you have in here this is your master key to access it if anything goes wrong and if anyone else gets access to this master key they can also access your cryptocurrency in this wallet so from 1 to 12 I'm gonna I'm gonna hover over each of these words and write themDown it's very important that you do this this is the most important part of setting up this wallet so I'm going to go ahead and write my 12 words down and then we're going to continue on all right so I've just written down my secret phrase from 1 to 12 all the wordsIn the right order and I press done and now it's going to test us to ensure that we've got this absolutely correct so it's asking me which word is the 11th word of your secret phrase and my 11th word is sorry so I'm just going to pressOn sorry hit done and just like that it's confirmed that I've actually done that correctly and I've got my 12 words backed up so as easy as that I've set up the Exodus wallet I have set a password for it on my computer and I have writtenDown my 12 word backup which is my master key to access this wallet those 12 words from 1 to 12 I have to keep in a private location where no one else can find them I don't store them online at all because if there's an online dataBreach or someone else gets access to something online they would be able to view my 12 words so I like to keep mine written down on pen and paper and keep them stored securely with multiple copies because let's just say you have thirty thousand dollars of BitcoinStored in your wallet your house burns down and your 12 words were on just one piece of paper in your cupboard and that got burnt down as well your computer got fried in the fire you've lost access to both your house of course which sucks but you've also lost access to yourThirty thousand dollars worth of bitcoin and it is impossible to get access again without that master key so something to keep in mind is just keeping it Ultra secure having multiple copies and being smart with how you store those 12 words just like that you have now officiallySet up your Fury own wallets your own cryptocurrency wallet your own private wallet that no one else has any access to that is how easy it is it's not all that hard takes two to three minutes the biggest part of course is just backing up your private key writing down those12 words and ensuring that you have those 12 words secured in multiple places and that are private and um hidden basically so that's how you set up your very own Exodus wallet on PC I'm going to wrap it up for this video if you would like to understand how toBuy and receive cryptocurrency into this wallet do click on one of the links Down Below in my description I'm going to be making lots of videos about how to buy and receive certain coins into this wallet but that's the basic setup of a wallet and
