I lost all my crypto happened very quickly in a very short amount of time um but I did on today's episode I am going to talk about how I lost all of my cryptocurrency in basically the matter of 30 seconds my name is crypto J and myGoal is to help you on your journey to Financial Freedom let's get started all right so let me set the scene for you guys it is my first or second year in cryptocurrency I have accumulated a decent amount of Bitcoin a decent amount of ethereum and a handful of other altCoins that I've just been stacking um really since the peak of the bull market and I've continued to stack into the bear Market I was talking to a group of my guys that I've really kept up with um sharing crypto news and information and we go back and forth on theories andConspiracies and stuff like that and I was sharing my opinion on do I think it's worth it um investing in a cold wallet or cold storage and I sat there with a gentleman and I told him all the different reasons why I think it's pivotal every single person who invests in cryptocurrencyBitcoin ethereum buys some sort of Cold Storage so let's fast forward a couple weeks I'm on the line and I'm sifting through the internet um looking to buy my first Cold Storage wallet and I decided to go to Amazon because I use Amazon like most Americans for mostThings I purchase especially when it comes to um some of the more Tech or Fitness based things I'll buy so I decided to buy a ledger Hardware wallet from Amazon and this was the first mistake so I was also told from that same group of guys that I was chatting with earlier thatBuying through a third party is kind of sketch and I may not want to do it I ignore this advice and I continued to move forward I was doing my own research like I I suggest everyone always do and the Amazon reviews looked pretty legitimate so I decided to pull theTrigger and I purchased it so it came in like two days later I was super excited and I started slowly converting my cryptocurrency from my different wallets I had a coinbase I had an uphold I had um a coin dot IO and I started moving all my cryptocurrency over to my cold storageWell once I had moved over just over one ethereum which was the last thing I did actually because I was like I'll play it slow I'll just I'll put some of my other alt coins I'll put a little bit of Bitcoin um and then I pulled the trigger andAgain moved everything over because it looked pretty pretty legit one of the things that buying through a third party had me do is on the device itself on the screen it told me to go to the website and I thought this was kind of odd because Cold Storage meansDisconnected from the internet that's the whole legitimacy behind how you're more protected you're not connected to the internet so it's harder for spammers it's harder for a hacker to get into your uh cold wallet well because I did buy it through Amazon I bought a faultyDevice and it prompted me to go to The Ledger website and I don't believe this was the correct Ledger website um I don't actually remember what the website was I thought it was ledger.com but I would be remiss if I said that that is exactly what it wasOn the website and they prompted me to log in and start transferring over my crypto I'm like again this is kind of weird that I have to log in with my private keys but you know this is my first time doing it maybe this is just how it goesWell they must have had some sort of alert once I moved a certain amount of money to my cold wallet to basically wipe it all out and that's exactly what they did um I went on a date with my girlfriend to the movies and when we got back I gotAn alert and I was like that's weird and when I went to go actually check my cold wallet I had zero Bitcoin zero ethereum zero Salata and it was pretty disheartening um and I was pretty distraught for quite some time I actually took a couple of weeks I think it wasLike two or three weeks and I actually stopped keeping up with a lot of crypto news I stopped at dollar cost averaging I I had saved for so long and put so much research and hard-earned time and energy into this money and it was just gone it was just taken from me umAnd it still has taken me some time to get over and it took me some time to have the courage to get back into cryptocurrency because honestly I was really embarrassed um I take I originally took a lot of pride in being able to share informationThat helped people make a profit or or have a better understanding with cryptocurrency and I was just so dumbfounded how I can make such a stupid critical mistake and yes I was hacked um but it really did come down to my own ignorance and not listen to the advice IWas originally given and that advice was buying through the actual website so what is important that you can take away so you do not make the same mistakes the only two that I believe are really worth investing are The Ledger wallet and the treasure wallet now I am currently using treasureUm I don't believe that treasure is necessarily better than Ledger I both I think they both have some real advantages um I was a little scarred from using Ledger because of my snafu so to speak with Amazon services and whatnot um so I went with treasure so let mePull up the websites for you guys so we have ledger.com over here and you can go here and you can see their products they have The Ledger stack the Nano this is what I tried to order the Nano S Plus and then we have the treasure hard wall as wellAnd you have the Model T and the model one I currently have a model one it was super inexpensive only 70 dollars there was shipping I think it came out to be like 15 or 10 with shipping um this is not a sponsored video this is just something I believe that anyone whoHas cryptocurrency anyone who believes in cryptocurrency Bitcoin ethereum long term should have one and should store their Bitcoin ethereum on one of these to protect yourself um I do think as technologists continue to advance cyber security will get better but while cyber security gets better it seems that hackers and malware andPhishing ads they also continue to get more rampant so make sure that you are doing your own research you are checking the websites before you connect your wallet if people are doing airdrops make sure they are legitimate airdrops make sure you are not sharing your privateKeys with anyone on any website you are not storing them on email on your notes on Apple Cloud anything of that such if you found this video useful
