[Music] hi everyone for those who don't know me I'm Tracy from untraceable and thanks for coming to blockchain Futures conference we are celebrating 10 years in the blockchain space ten years ago we did our first event in blockchain it was called Bitcoin there really wasn't the term blockchain or anything else back then and we've done events everywhere over almost 92 events over 85 000 attendees and I'm going to tell you kind of our story of all the different things we've done I've also ran events all around the world Bahamas Barbados Australia Italy and everywhere in between when I started Bitcoin was three hundred dollars ah and so I've literally seen the ups and downs of the industry literally especially being in my role in events I see all the sponsors so I know who's launching who has the announcements I see the kind of attendees I see these speakers and so today I thought what can I tell the audience about the last 10 years and so on this I'm giving you a topic on the top 10 tips to survive the next 10 years in the blockchain industry telling you it's gonna be one of the best presentations you hear so we're gonna get started okay so if you're not listening at you come take a c this is going to be something you guys want to hear so top 10 tips to survive the next 10 years number one ten remember what sent you down the rabbit hole what sparked your interest about decentralization and remember that there's so many shiny objects in blockchain there's like this over here and this and why am I doing this is oh my God there's so much stuff but what sparked your interest that kept you there for me I got involved when I went to Kenya on my third trip I started a microfinance program there I funded women entrepreneurs and I taught them about financial literacy on my third trip there I was coming back and we're trying to still send money over borders and I realized how hard it was to send money all the way to Kenya I also realized that over 2 billion people in the world were unbanked and it blew my mind about how can people survive if they're not financially independent and I always come back to that when we do these events and anything we do because there is a lot of shiny objects in the space so remember what sparked your interest they got you here and stick with it okay number nine you never know who you're sitting beside they could be vitalik for me it was vitalik ethereum starred in Toronto I actually worked at a place called decentral and that's where vitalik worked out of I also ran the first ethereum hackathon in the world these are photos from it I don't know if you guys recognize some of these people Ethan Buckman was just a hacker at the hackathon Cosmos wasn't done he was just sitting there hacking that's valad also a part of the ethereum project Steve dock a co-founder of ethereum who's here today was part of the event Joseph Lubin vitalik wasn't the most popular kid in the room he was young he was young like me we sat back there and we were friends so don't like be careful who you sit beside like be nice to everybody you know you never know who these people are gonna be and so vitalik's been to two of these events a futurist who's been to nine in my conferences and he comes back and I think he comes back because I was nice to him so long years ago so don't um you know be nice to everyone essentially because you never know who you're sitting beside all right number eight move with the industry be agile change learn pivot keep going this industry changes a lot you gotta just learn to go with the flow this is the 24 Bitcoin Expo the largest in the world at the time we did at the convention center theorem was our main sponsor but the biggest problem I had back then were these mining equipment they're like the size of my hand like God if I get all this mining equipment and people are going to buy this mining I don't know if you guys saw what's outside this event it's like a two-story hundred foot mining shipping container that was this year's biggest problem the industry has changed so much from a handheld Miner it's a massive mining farms and that's just one example so learn how to be agile embrace it it's okay if you started a project that's not relevant anymore get used to it just jump on the bandwagon and do something else even when we did our token we're trying to figure out what we do it on and first it was Bitcoin cash because I work with Roger ver and then it was no no everyone's on Matic oh no now that's polygon oh no no we gotta go to Arbitron so now we're on Arbitron and we're just gonna keep going because as the industry moves we have to move with it so get used to it number seven everything has its moment if you believe in it stick to it and be an expert everything has its moment multiple moments actually nfts I'm going to give you an example I ran the first eat hackathon so the eth global series I actually ran the first one it's called Eat Waterloo sir vitalik went to school and at that hackathon cryptokitties launched it was like kind of the first time you know nfts got like you know some star some news and things like that crypto kitties launched crazy nfts are amazing two months later crypto cookies clogs the ethereum network ah no nfcs are never going to work on ethereum they're horrible they're horrible then amazing again then horrible again then every brand in the world is putting up an nfts whoever's not an nfts your way in the past now this year everyone's like oh hell those nfcs that never worked yeah okay they're gonna get another run I promise you they always do if you believe in something stick to it be an expert in it decentralized science it's coming supply chain it's coming regenerative Finance it's coming anything you guys are working on it's coming so stick with it number six it's 24 7. get used to it if you don't like it get out of the industry stock market closed at 5 PM crypto never sleeps the best story I can give with this is I one of my biggest part of my journey is I work with a company called polymath what we did is we brought traditional secured Securities to the blockchain stocks bonds derivatives all those type of things our biggest campaign that we did was on Christmas Day our team said you know what at Christmas everybody's just going to be at their kitchen table talking so what did we do we bought the biggest ad on Corey market cap on Christmas Day and everybody was talking about us it was hard my parents were like what are you doing on Christmas Day but hey it worked everybody was talking about us across the world so if you don't like being 24 hours this is not the right space for you um get used to it all right we're almost there you guys enjoying it yeah cool awesome I love that all right because this one this one's a big one don't have regrets I'm trying to look at everybody in the eye right now it's hard we all regret something why didn't I buy it at this price why didn't I sell it at this price my friend told me about this let me show you something this is a panini maker I bought this is the Bitcoin transaction for the panini maker I bought online it doesn't even fit a panini in 2014 I bought this panini maker online with a bunch of other stuff because that's what I got paid on and guess what it's probably worth about five thousand bucks now I don't have regrets at the time that was my currency that's what we did don't have regrets in the space if you do you're gonna miss out on the future opportunities there's so much awaiting for you and I know it's hard and I know this one hits us all hard don't do it you're here in the space there's going to be more get on the bad wagon learn and kind of you know do your research all right number four don't let One Bad Apple ruin the whole bunch in this space there are a lot of Partnerships there's a lot of money there's a lot of business being done there's a lot of team formation and not everyone gets along with everyone but don't let it ruin all the other amazing people in the space because I know we all have that one story about that one person that did something just take that throw it away and keep going because there's so many amazing support networks out there number three companies who support and contribute survive this is my biggest observation over the last 10 years you guys saw how many companies were here today between the speakers and the sponsors and the partners and the community and the media those are the ones that made it then we go out with like we go out to even more the people who contribute and sponsor the people who donate the people who come on a dime to come speak those are the ones that survive so I'll take a second right now and just really thank our sponsors thank everyone here who has contributed who came and bought a ticket our title sponsors ndax shib and wonder if I are Platinum sponsors Kraken XTC coinbase and brave our gold and silver sponsors and our bronze and copper sponsors all the way up to the really small Marketplace guys we really really appreciate it there's a lot of sponsors here with us that have sponsored us five years in a row and I know they'll be around for the next 10 years for sure all right number two I'm almost done guys you're taking notes the industry is here to stay and it's growing this industry is so resilient right now it's 11 billion dollars and it's protracted to grow the market size to 469 billion by 20 foot 30. just a friendly reminder of how fast it's growing this is a photo that I had with Mount gox got hacked I was at decentral and CBC in the news came in and they were filming one of the founders Anthony diorio and when Mount gox was a big hack that happened in 2014. that was it crypto's done everything's done back it up back it up we're gone and then it came back and there were lots of other things that happened and it came back FTX happened back it up we're done and it came back regulation nope still came back it is so resilient the other cool story I want to share is I was in Shanghai in 2017 at a conference in China and while we were at that conference news came out China's Banning crypto the organizers God bless them obviously as an organizer started ripping down all the sponsor banners like oh no we have to get these sponsor banners down China has regulation but the vibe in the crowd nobody cared they're like yeah we'll go to Singapore no problem we're already set up somewhere else and it like really sunk in that this is a global movement that's happening here this is a network that is Unstoppable it didn't even phase people and price didn't change and nothing really changed because of it and so that was the first moment that I realized there's nothing stopping this beast in the world and so whatever you guys hear in the news about something coming out sure you know it will affect it but it's not going to stop it that's my opinion and number one you can make a huge difference don't be discouraged you're here for a reason this is a photo of me from my first volunteer meeting that's me all guys in the room I did not have a background in capital markets it didn't have a background as an engineer I had pink hair I was one of the only girls in their room and I found a way to make a difference don't let anybody or anything in this industry make you feel like you don't belong here you do belong here and you need to find your role here web 3 is an evolution of the internet that's as simple as that and it's going to affect everybody and everything and as you sit in the audience right now take this in and listen try to find something in the space that connects with you that you enjoy that you're passionate about and Go full force about it people think you're crazy that's okay and then they'll call you up when it's all the hype again but enjoy it I know that you can make a difference because if I was able to being so young you definitely can so to conclude I just want to say thank you for the absolutely incredible 10 years and we look for an incredible 10 more let's hear it for Tracy la parulo [Music]
