To begin, visit the Exodus Wallet website and download the desktop version of the wallet. While the mobile version is convenient, having the desktop version is recommended, especially if you own a Trezor hardware wallet. Choose the appropriate version for your operating system and install it on your computer.
2. Setting Up a New Wallet or Restoring from Backup:
Upon launching Exodus Wallet, you have two options: restore from a backup or start a new wallet. If you have used Exodus on a different computer and want to reload your wallet, choose the restore option. If you want to start a new wallet, go to the settings menu, set a password, and generate a secret recovery phrase.
3. Managing Your Secret Recovery Phrase:
Your secret recovery phrase is crucial for accessing your wallet from any device. Write down the 12-word recovery phrase and keep it in a safe place. Exodus Wallet allows you to view and verify your recovery phrase. Never share your recovery phrase or password with anyone.
4. Linking Exodus Wallet with Trezor Hardware Wallet:
If you own a Trezor hardware wallet, you can link it with Exodus Wallet. Install the Trezor Bridge, connect your Trezor device to your computer, and Exodus Wallet will recognize it. This integration provides an additional layer of security for your assets.
5. Exploring the Exodus Wallet Interface:
Exodus Wallet offers a user-friendly interface that allows you to view your wallet balances, transaction history, and portfolio performance. Familiarize yourself with the different features and settings, such as app lock, currency preferences, and support options.
6. Receiving Coins into Your Exodus Wallet:
To receive coins into your Exodus Wallet, select the desired asset and click on the receive button. Ensure that you choose the correct network for the asset you want to receive. Copy the wallet address or scan the QR code to receive coins from another wallet or exchange.
7. Sending Coins from Your Exodus Wallet:
When sending coins from your Exodus Wallet, make sure you have sufficient gas tokens for the respective blockchain network. Choose the asset you want to send, enter the recipient’s address, and confirm the transaction. Be aware of the gas fees associated with each transaction.
8. Swapping and Exchanging Cryptocurrencies:
Exodus Wallet allows you to swap and exchange cryptocurrencies directly within the wallet. However, it is important to note that this method can be more expensive compared to using dedicated exchanges like binance or BuyBit. Consider the fees and rates before using the built-in swapping feature.

Exodus Wallet supports staking for certain cryptocurrencies. You can earn staking rewards by depositing eligible assets into the wallet. Explore the staking options within Exodus Wallet and calculate potential earnings. Remember to research the specific blockchain’s staking mechanism before participating.

how to generate a new desktop exodus wallet
exodus used to be good its shit …
With a hardware wallet you are potentially sharing your seed phrase with that company just like we see with Ledger today. The best way to handle this is to have a clean computer/laptop. Add your HOT wallet like Exodus or Atomic wallet for example. Make your wallet and get your seed safe. Send crypt to it a little bit at first and then send your bulk. Shut the lid of the laptop and don't use it for everyday internet activity. Its totally safe shut off. When you need to move crypto turn it back on and do what you need to do then take it offline again. Simple. Ledger recently said they can extract your seed phrase from the hardware device when before they said its impossible.
