A Comprehensive Comparison of Top Canadian Crypto Exchanges in 2022: Evaluating Fees and Features
The Rise of Cryptocurrency Exchange Platforms
Cryptocurrency has taken the financial world by storm, revolutionizing the way we think about money and transactions. As the popularity of digital currencies continues to grow, so does the need for reliable and secure cryptocurrency exchange platforms. In this article, we will explore the world of cryptocurrency exchanges, their importance, and how they work.
What are Cryptocurrency Exchange Platforms?
Cryptocurrency exchange platforms are online marketplaces where users can buy, sell, and trade various cryptocurrencies. These platforms act as intermediaries, connecting buyers and sellers and facilitating transactions. They provide a secure and convenient way for individuals to enter the world of cryptocurrencies and participate in the digital economy.
How do Cryptocurrency Exchange Platforms Work?
Cryptocurrency exchange platforms operate similarly to traditional stock exchanges. Users create accounts, deposit funds, and then use those funds to buy or sell cryptocurrencies. The platforms match buyers and sellers based on their desired price and quantity, ensuring fair and efficient transactions.
When a user wants to buy a cryptocurrency, they place an order on the exchange platform. The platform then searches for a matching sell order and executes the transaction. The purchased cryptocurrency is then transferred to the buyer’s digital wallet, which is provided by the exchange platform.
Similarly, when a user wants to sell a cryptocurrency, they place a sell order on the platform. The platform matches the sell order with a corresponding buy order and completes the transaction. The funds from the sale are then deposited into the seller’s account on the exchange platform.
The Importance of Cryptocurrency Exchange Platforms
Cryptocurrency exchange platforms play a crucial role in the adoption and growth of digital currencies. Here are some key reasons why they are important:
1. Accessibility: Cryptocurrency exchange platforms make it easy for anyone to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. They provide a user-friendly interface and support various payment methods, making it accessible to individuals worldwide.

4. Price Discovery: Exchange platforms facilitate price discovery by providing a transparent marketplace where buyers and sellers can determine the fair value of cryptocurrencies. This helps in reducing price manipulation and ensuring fair market conditions.
5. Trading Tools and Features: Many cryptocurrency exchange platforms offer advanced trading tools and features such as limit orders, stop-loss orders, and margin trading. These tools enable users to execute complex trading strategies and maximize their potential profits.
Popular Cryptocurrency Exchange Platforms
There are numerous cryptocurrency exchange platforms available today, each with its own unique features and offerings. Here are some of the most popular ones:

That was an intense comparison of which is the best Canada Crypto Exchange! But I think you should add Netcoins Exchange to your list because, aside from it is also based here in Canada. I believe that it can also match your list of best exchanges.
IF according to the liberals during question period, crypto is "not worth anything" then why do they now demand the taxes on earning from just holding crypto?
For example. If I hold xrp in newton for whatever percentage per day compounding in kind, and that xrp is worth $xxx that day, you now have earned $xxx that day and must pay that as income. Then when you sell that, say : xrp, you now have a capital gain in addition. Can't have it both ways, is it legit, or not? if someone holds crypto (xrp, btc, ect) and earns interest in kind, they must pay taxes in Canadian dollars, if they sell that crypto, they must then also pay capital gains in addition. Meaning, anyone who holds crypto will earn less take home pay, or spendable income in Canada, just by holding and earning interest in crypto on their crypto asset, as opposed to the infinite Canadian dollar? smells funny in here…. and I just took a shower..
If xrp is not based on debt, why would you charge that much tax for bringing liquidity back into the Canadian dollar?
Newton is owned by coinbase. Aka blackrock. And they are always conveniently “down” every crypto event , unable to withdrawal. Sketch
Wealthsimple keep their crypto in gemini cold wallet,is that safe as i heart on media that gemini is going to file bankruptcy so can we still consider wealthysimple safe??
The high rate of living presently a new dimension of earnings, despite the drop in Bitcoin price will not stop me from investing.

Among all the crypto exchanges that you compared, it was Netcoins that stood out the best for me.
Who has the best security to protect your personal info?
What I've realized in your comparison, Netcoins is still the best exchange when it comes to fees and features. I have tried the other platforms, but Netcoins is the best for me.
What is the best one for options traders
I'm surprised you didn't include shakepay, that said good video 👍
I use Newton mostly but also ndax and shakepay. Shakepay least for no reason.
With NDAX you get nailed hard on the transfer fee to your cold wallet. $14 for $500. All exchanges are ripoffs.
Canadian exchanges = government fleecing you of even more money. You will NOT make a profit in Canada.
Is it possible to leverage in any of those exchanges? Or is it banned in canada

Which one do you think is the best today in mid 2023 and what do you think of Virgo?
Hi im just curious if you known bitnational? I have crypto there. Started using it around 2020. And when i tried so sign in or open it. Last April and didn't give me the option. I tried to email them but didn't get any respond to them. They didn't give me email informing whats going on. What im see is that they focus on bitcoin atm ..i dont know what happen to the wallet and exchange. I hope you can give a content on this particular exchange. Thanks.
Beware of NDAX staking as you won't be able to transfer your staked rewards to your wallet once you've unstaked your coins. Also the customer support is very amateurish. Compared to my RBC direct investing support, which is highly professional and concise, NDAX is a joke. Its seems as though they don't have a thorough understanding of how the process works. To be clear you will see your staked rewards in your account, but you won't be able to transfer them to your wallet, and when you inquire as to why it seems as though you're annoying them, and you'll receive a curt, smart ass response. Save yourself the hassle and don't waste your time staking on NDAX, you won't receive your rewards!!

Hi Russell. Thanks for info. Would love your feedback. My situation. I have Shakepay and have been using for a few years, very lightly I might add. Currently, I am with a Trader and send him my funds. Sent bitcoin with Shakepay. Another member suggested USDT TR20 would be cheaper. What I do – send funds to trader, he trades, he sends me withdraw when I askt. No doing any trading myself right now. Not keeping any coins for investing. What do you suggest for exchange other than Shakepay and use USDT? Or stay with shakepay and use bitcoin? Looks like Newton or NADX would be better? I do have Newton as well. I used it some time ago but still have a bit of BTC in the account. Thanks.
