What a stellar guest. These are the conversations we need right now in crypto. There is so much capital available when you think about it, projects (especially layer 1s) are able to manufacture resources out of thin air. But those are being wasted on coupon chasers aka airdrop hunters. This all seems so similar to the days of GroupOn. We saw huge growth in that group deal sector. Google offered to buy GroupOn for nearly 6B!
But it all crashed to earth once people realised it was just free stuff that was driving the traffic. Businesses saw negative returns for offers so soon abandoned the platforms. And once the deals dried up, the users left. We have the same negative value users participating in airdrops. They will not stay in crypto once the free cash is gone.
Also totally agree with questing platforms being a big step forward. Things like Zealy, Tide, etc.. let projects drive specific behaviours from users. It may not mean you have as many users, but the ones you get will be magnitudes more likely to stick around.
