My Experience Testing Tangem’s Exceptional Crypto Wallet!
Let’s Talk Hardware Wallets: Tangem Wallet Review
Most of us are familiar with the phrase “not your keys, not your coins,” emphasizing the importance of self-custody in the world of cryptocurrency. With recent exchange collapses, the need for secure storage solutions has become even more apparent. Hardware wallets have emerged as a popular choice for keeping our coins safe and secure. In this article, we will explore a unique approach to hardware wallets called Tangem Wallet.
Introducing Tangem Wallet
Tangem Wallet offers a completely new and innovative design that sets it apart from traditional hardware wallets. Instead of a typical device, Tangem Wallet consists of a card and a companion app on your phone. The card itself contains a microchip that stores your private keys and signs transactions, while the phone acts as the front end, displaying the data. The two components interact using NFC (near field communication) technology, similar to tap-to-pay systems like Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Setting up Tangem Wallet is incredibly easy and takes less than three minutes. Simply tap your phone to the card to generate your wallet, and repeat the process with additional cards to set them as backups. The simplicity and convenience of this approach make Tangem Wallet stand out.
Key Features and Benefits
Tangem Wallet offers several unique features and benefits that make it an attractive choice for both beginners and advanced crypto investors:
No Seed Phrases
Unlike traditional hardware wallets that require you to remember and store seed phrases, Tangem Wallet eliminates this step. With Tangem, your private keys are stored on the card itself, eliminating the need for seed phrases. This improves user experience and reduces the risk of losing access to your funds.
Simple and Portable
Tangem Wallet’s design eliminates the need for computers, cables, or additional devices. The card and phone combination is all you need to access and manage your crypto assets. This simplicity makes it easy to carry and use Tangem Wallet wherever you go.
Wide Coin Support
Tangem Wallet supports nearly 3,000 coins across popular layer 1 and layer 2 networks. Unlike other hardware wallets that require you to download separate apps for different coins, Tangem Wallet supports a wide range of networks and blockchains, providing a seamless user experience.
DApp Compatibility
Tangem Wallet is compatible with popular decentralized applications (DApps) through its integration with WalletConnect. This means you can easily interact with DApps, trade NFTs, and perform swaps on platforms like UniSwap using Tangem Wallet.
Enhanced Security
Tangem Wallet prioritizes both security and simplicity. The card’s design ensures that your private key never leaves the chip, providing an additional layer of protection. The microchip on the card is highly certified, equivalent to the security certification of electronic passports. Additionally, Tangem Wallet requires you to set up an access code PIN, adding another layer of defense against unauthorized access.
Durability
Tangem Wallet is rated IP68, the highest possible protection rating against environmental conditions. This means it can withstand dust, water, heat, and other harsh elements, ensuring the durability of your wallet.
Is Tangem Wallet Trustworthy?
Tangem Wallet is a reputable company with a strong track record. Here are some key details to consider:

in the crypto world thanks for the amazing info and review
'If you don't hold your keys you don't hold your crypto'. Tangem card holds your keys so you have to rely on Tangem and their cards. Lose the cards and you lose everything.
I am currently Staking Solana, Atom, Polkadot, Cardono, and Polygon each in there individual Purse…. Can i store multiple purses on a Tangem the way i would have on a ledger???
What if you lose a card and someone else gets ahold of it ?
thanks for the content. I bought my tangem wallet. The question I was wondering about is, what happens if the company Tangem goes belly up and the app becomes no longer available? What would one do to access their card wallet at that point? How does open source help up in this instance?
Thank you for the video. Can you make a video and explain what you said about meta mask? And do you delete the Tengem app on the old phone once you buy a new phone? And do you need metamask or just Tengem? Newbie here, lol
Great wallet, very ingenuos.
Few things about this wallet if you want to lose your crypto:
1) The wallet is closed source, they lied and go around the questions if you ask but the firmware of the card itself is not open source, there is no way of telling how and if the card generates the private key. Why is this important ? if the key generation is not random they could predict every key ever generated !
2) None of their partnerships can be verified or confirmed.
3) Their leaderboard members are rogue people without a verifyble background or history like someone pooped them out yesterday. Which is common with cryptoscams.
4) Their address is a PO box in a shopping mall, which is also being used by scammers and other fake companies.
5) The audit that was performed in 2018 did not check the companies background just the source code of the firmware o the card, that firmware has been altered after the audit and there is no way for the public to verify the firmware.
I don't get it, if someone steals you card, they own your crypto?? Rather have a device with a code that only I know…
Real testing is bombing it up, grinding it up, throwing tar on it and seeing if it still works.
Simply throwing it in water is the weakest level test.
How does the wallet transfer a wallet from one card to another? Makes no sense
How long did it take for you to get your Tangem wallet once you place the order
Made an order a few days ago. Unfortunately, they are out of stock and the new batch of cards are now in production. How long it will take for them to deliver they can't even tell. This information should have been mentioned on their website. It's like they grabbed your money and now make you wait for the cards to be produced.
Please, do NOT promote the products that do not deliver.
Ordered one from the Tangem site 3 months ago and it is not here yet. It's a bit concerning because they are quite slow at responding to my emails and in the end gave no answers. Its a great idea but you would think a company with such a great product would care enough about its customers to ensure delivery in a reasonable timeframe or at least try and rectify the issues with shipping when they do occur. Still waiting in Canada
What happens to your cripto if u lose your phone. ?????
Can’t fire affect a plastic card just as much as a piece of paper?
Tangem doesn’t let the owner have the secret phrase. It’s built into the chip. Well does the company have the secret phrase? And they drain your crypto? No way!
I would like a tangem wallet for my family members, and it’s safe .
I don't see discount code here.
Tandem wallet has no seed phrases so if the company go bust you will lose all your Cryptos will not be able to transfer to a different wallets so please be very careful before transferring to Tandem wallet 🇨🇭
Probably a dumb question, I’m fairly new at this, but what if something happens to your phone? Can the card be linked to a new phone?
I ordered my Tangem wallet and it was recently shipped from Hong Kong? Though like you mentioned it has a seal, checks for tampering of the software and doesn't generate the private key until in your possession. I do follow Tangem on X. Please put me in the drawing.
interesting.. I was curious about verification.. because I send crypto to it but don’t know if it’s verified on the cards? Im guessing it’s applied to the nfc or unique code imprinted on the card.
Finally a wallet that doesn’t look like a giga pet game or flash drive 😂
No mention of
1. What if you change phones ?
2. What if your phone does not have NFC ?
3. Can it be used on a desktop computer ?
I do not have a cold wallet yet so need this to do a secure backup.
Great job on the video 😊
Sounds great ! It's not simple.
What if you lose your phone or get a new phone?
