Step-by-Step Guide: Setting Up 2FA (2-Factor Authentication) on Crypto.com [2022]
How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication on Crypto.com
Hey guys, Evan here! In this video, I’m going to show you how to set up two-factor authentication on Crypto.com. Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account, making it more difficult for hackers to gain access. So, let’s get started!
Step 1: Open the Crypto.com App
To begin, open the Crypto.com app on your device. Once opened, click on the settings icon located at the top left corner of the screen.
Step 2: Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Scroll down until you find the “Two-Factor Authentication” option. Make sure the “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” box is checked. This will activate the feature for your account.
Step 3: Install an Authenticator App
Next, you’ll need to install an authenticator app on your device. While there are several options available, I personally recommend Authy. It’s a reliable and user-friendly app. Download and install Authy or any other authenticator app of your choice.
Step 4: Set Up the Authenticator App
Open the authenticator app and click on the “Add Account” button. You’ll then have the option to either scan the QR code displayed on the Crypto.com app or enter the secret key manually. In this case, let’s choose the manual option.
Copy the secret key from the Crypto.com app and paste it into the authenticator app. Click on “Save” to complete the process. If you’re using Google Authenticator, the steps will be similar.
Step 5: Verify Two-Factor Authentication
After saving the secret key, you should see the Crypto.com authentication token in your authenticator app. Copy the code from the app and return to the Crypto.com app. Click on “Proceed to Verify” and paste the two-factor authentication code. Click on “Continue” to complete the process.
Step 6: Two-Factor Authentication Enabled
Congratulations! You have successfully enabled two-factor authentication on your Crypto.com account. You will now have an extra layer of security to protect your assets and personal information.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: Why is two-factor authentication important for my Crypto.com account?
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account, making it significantly more difficult for hackers to gain unauthorized access. It provides an additional verification step, ensuring that only you can access your account and protect your assets.
Q2: Can I use a different authenticator app instead of Authy?
Absolutely! While Authy is a popular choice due to its user-friendly interface and reliability, you can use any authenticator app that supports the Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) protocol. Google Authenticator is another commonly used app for this purpose.
Q3: What should I do if I lose my device with the authenticator app?
If you lose your device with the authenticator app installed, it’s important to have a backup plan. Before this happens, make sure to save the backup codes provided by Crypto.com. These codes can be used to regain access to your account. Additionally, you can contact Crypto.com’s customer support for further assistance.
Q4: Can I disable two-factor authentication after enabling it?
Yes, you can disable two-factor authentication if you no longer wish to use it. However, it is highly recommended to keep this security feature enabled to protect your account. Disabling it may increase the risk of unauthorized access to your Crypto.com account.
Q5: Can I use two-factor authentication on multiple devices?
Yes, you can set up two-factor authentication on multiple devices. Simply follow the same steps mentioned earlier on each device, using the same secret key or QR code. This will ensure that all your devices are protected with two-factor authentication.
Setting up two-factor authentication on Crypto.com is a simple yet crucial step in securing your account. By following these steps, you can enhance the security of your assets and have peace of mind knowing that your account is well-protected.
